We wish you all a happy, safe, healthy and prosperous new year. 2009 has been a difficult year for many in the wine industry. We want to thank all the hard work so many have put into making wine, and with all of those that were impacted by the economic downturn the best of luck in 2010. We look forward to making 2010 the most successful year in OpenBottles' history. Thank you all for your support this far in our journey.

Free Tasting Journals Are Back!
Nov 13, 2009

We just got a fresh batch of our popular tasting journals, and we're giving them away for free to our members. Want one? All you have to do is post one wine or winery review - that's it.

Our pocket-sized tasting journals are perfect for jotting down notes about wines you taste and wineries you visit. This is a great way to remember what you liked or didn't like, especially if you plan on tasting many wines. Of course, they also help you write your reviews on OpenBottles!

The notebooks come in three colors - red, black and purple. One review, and a notebook is yours (for free). But you have to hurry - we go through these really fast.

Fall Wine Passport in Santa Cruz November 21
Nov 2, 2009

The Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association Fall Wine Passport event will take place on November 21. I'm a huge fan of this event because it gives people access to wineries that are not normally open for tasting. $40 buys you a passport to all the participating wineries, and you can use the passport until its full (including for other passport events). I've already gone through 3 passports, and I'm planning on finishing up another one soon.

Fall is a great time to taste wine in the Santa Cruz mountains. I highly recommend you go, if you're in the area. More information is available on the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association's website (www.scmwa.com).
